A Trucker’s Odyssey: From Asphalt to Opportunity
It’s been almost two years since I last tapped away at this keyboard, August 2022 feels like a lifetime ago. Here I am, April 18th, 2024, staring down the barrel of 60 and a looming retirement I don’t feel ready for. Like a rogue semi on a crowded highway, Father Time waits for no one.
This reality has become a bit of an obsession. The ticking clock has me searching for alternative routes, exploring uncharted territories of income streams. But the existential questions rumble even louder – what’s my purpose? Is this all there is – the soul-crushing routine of shower, shit, shave, work, fight traffic, and repeat? A life monetized to the gills, shackled by debt, a relentless cycle until the inevitable curtain call.
Most folks, myself included, spend a lifetime chasing a seemingly ever=elusive financial haven. We scramble for scraps in a system that seems stacked against us. The recent crypto craze perfectly illustrates this desperation – a digital gold rush fueled by hope (or maybe greed) for a better tomorrow. I freely admit, the allure of opportunity shimmered brightly, and I, like many others, got caught up in the frenzy.
But there’s another side to the coin. Technology is evolving at lightning speed, driven by tech giants like Google and Apple; and with this evolution comes possibilities. For those of us with the hunger to learn, the digital landscape offers a new frontier – a world of blogs, websites, YouTube channels, and affiliate marketing. Here’s the beauty – it’s not confined by the walls of a truck cab or the tyranny of the clock. This online world offers the potential to build something that transcends the limitations of both space, and time.
